WOW Hunter Guide
Hello and welcome to the WOW Hunter Guide at WoWGoGuides.com.
Hunters are “masters of the wilderness” because of their strong connection with animals and nature. They are able to seek out, tame, and train wild animals to become their pets and help to increase the Hunters DPS and aid in management of aggro levels.
Hunters are top of all classes when it comes to long ranged attacks on enemies which they accomplish with weapons such as guns, crossbows, and normal bow and arrow.

Hunters are considered solo players so if you choose this class, be prepared to spend a large amount of time alone. Some players don’t like playing Hunter because of the isolation, while others enjoy playing alone.
You really need to know your particular playing style before rushing to choose the Hunter race.
Hunters are light weight, super quick warriors that are noted for their agility, defensive skills, and their mastery of a large assortment of weapons. There are many talents and abilities available to the Hunter which can be divided into the following categories: ranged fighting, strings, shots, traps, combat pets, melee fighting, tracking, and aspects.
Depending on your race you will be able to use either a gun, bow and arrow, or a crossbow when starting out in ranged fighting. As you progress you will be able to use weapons that are not race specific. DPS will vary between the different types of ammunition used and what level you are on.
Specialized debuffs are available to Hunters which are called strings. They can be used on targets during different situations and have a variety of effects.
Scorpid Sting for instance has the power to reduce the chosen targets ability to hit with melee attacks and are great to use in PvE.
To increase their DPS Hunters rely heavily on special shots for both causing damage and utility. The choice of shots will depend on the talent spec. Explosive Shot is used by survival hunters, and Arcane Shot is used by both marksmen and beastmasters.
Hunters use traps when an enemy gets close to the them, lasting for 30 seconds when activated before they go into a 30 second cooldown. Traps are divided into categories: Frost (Frost Trap and Freezing Trap), Fire (Black Arrow, Immolation Trap, and Explosive Trap), and Nature which includes Snake Trap.
Pets are available at level 10 and can be trained by the hunter to be used in combat. In the eyes of the hunter pets are viewed as tools of weapon as well as companionship. They can help to manage aggro, add to DPS and serve well as tanks.
The three talent trees of Hunter are: Marksmanship, Beast Mastery, and Survival.
Marksmanship talent tree is focused mainly on damage from ranged attacks. This tree is excellent for raids and can be useful in PvP.
Beast Mastery gives Hunters the ability to tame exotic beasts such as : Spirit Beast, Rhino, Core Hound and Chimaera. This tree is a supremely popular choice for PvP because of the pets ambush abilities.
The Survival tree is all about, believe it or not, survival! Traps are great for both crowd control and for close combat encounters. Top damage dealing talents for the Survival tree include: Explosive Shot and Black Arrow.
The class of Hunter is available for both Alliance and Horde races. On the Alliance side you can choose: Draenei, Human, Ironforge Dwarf, Worgen, and Night Elf. Horde can choose from the following: Blood Elf, Troll, Tauren, Orc, Forsaken, and Goblin.
